Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Head Office, Kathmandu, invites applciations for the position of Associate Director (Permanent Appointment). The vacant position will be fulfilled by Open Competitive Examination for Permanent Appointment.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) was created on August 16, 1985 (Bhadra 1, 2042) under the Nepal Electricity Authority Act. 1984, through the merger of the Department of Electricity of Ministry of Water Resources, Nepal Electricity Corporation and related Development Boards.
To remedy the inherent weakness associated with these fragmented electricity organizations with overlapping and duplication of works, merger of this individual organisation became necessary to achieve efficiency and reliable service.
The primary objective of NEA is to generate, transmit and distribute adequate, reliable and affordable power by planning, constructing, operating and maintaining all generation, transmission and distribution facilities in Nepal’s power system both interconnected and isolated.

Minimum Educational Qualification and experience:
Should have completed Master’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration, with at least 7 years of experience in an officer-level post in the Government of Nepal or an organized institution
OR
Should have completed Chartered Accountancy (CA) with 7 years of officer-level experience
Examination Type: Written test, presentation, and interview
Examination Fee: NPR 2,000; Candidates who applied under the earlier Ad No. 2080/81 (Women-1, re-published) may request a refund following the official procedure.
Duty Station: Anywhere across Nepal as per NEA’s requirement for officer-level positions.
Written Exam Schedule: To be published later in coordination with the Public Service Commission.
Age Limit:
- Should have completed 21 years and should not exceed 40 years
- No age limit for current permanent NEA employees.
Probation Period
- 1 year for general candidates
- 6 months for female candidates
